Corona gives “Disney+” 50 million subscribers around the world

Disney Plus has 50 million subscribers worldwide, 5 months after its launch in the United States and two weeks after its arrival in Europe.

“We are honored that Disney Plus appeals to millions of people, and this augurs well for our future expansion in Western Europe, Japan and across Latin America later this year,” said Kevin Mayer, a Disney official in Beijing.
Disney Plus was launched in November in North America, Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand.
For a few dollars or euros per month, it provides access to original programs, over 500 films and thousands of series.
In early February, the platform had more than 28 million subscribers, exceeding its own expectations, according to the company’s former president Bob Eiger.
The platform was launched in the last two weeks in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria and Switzerland.
The statement did not mention “covid 19”, which forced authorities in many countries to force their citizens to stay in the house to limit the spread of the virus. The time spent by people on social networks and entertainment platforms has increased since half of humanity was trapped in their homes.
